The Nobulus company is hard at work on Out of the Shadow in the rehearsal studio. The tour opens in just 4 weeks so make sure you’ve got your tickets booked. See here for the full tour list and booking links. Check out all the dancers in the show on our website at

It’s not all hard work in the rehearsal studio though – check out some photos taken by Erhan on our Facebook page

The online competition we ran last year with Elektro Kif is back even bigger and better! The winners from last year were NuProjeks from Nottingham. They have thrown down the challenge to see if you can do better and grab the hosting of DYC3 for next year! Just film yourself or your crew in front of an iconic landmark in your city or town, upload the video to our special Facebook page and you could win the chance to perform live on stage as the curtain raiser for Nobulus at the end of the tour. Full details on how to enter can be found here.

DTP is delighted to launch a new free educational resource pack for Out of the Shadows by Nobulus. Written by consultant Kate Scanlan, the resource is full of practical tasks in dance and character development inspired by the creative process of Nobulus themselves. It has a glossary breaking down hip hop vocabulary to support delivery and students understanding. A fantastic resource to underpin classroom and studio work and a theatre visit.

You can download the full pack here. It is also broken up into sections to make it easy to focus on particular elements.

Artistic Director Alexander Wengler was in London earlier in the year and DTP caught up with him to film a series of online film resources. Ranging from learning a bit about the company and their process, to teaching hip hop techniques like the wave, to learning the opening sequence of the show. These are fun, informative and snappy films that can be used by teachers to prepare workshops or given as a research task to students. Watch videos here.

The company themselves will be running workshops at every venue in the tour. Many have been booked up but there are workshops still available. If you are an organisation interested in a fun, creative and inspiring workshop with this exciting company please contact Emma at

Everybody Dance Now (EDN) is DTP’s new outreach programme that pilots this autumn on the Nobulus tour. In July, local dance artists from Blackpool, Cardiff, Doncaster, Newcastle, Salford and Coventry travelled to London to train with Alexander Wengler, Artistic Director of Nobulus. Over two days they trained together to develop a package of creative tasks and repertoire that will be taught to groups of young people. Those groups will also see the show and get to meet the company.

Many of the local dance artists are already working with the young people, some will be working on a piece of their own to dazzle audiences before the performance of Out of the Shadow. They are getting engaged in a BIG way.
