Call for Dance Artists to lead community engagement with New Art Club
Friday 30 January 2015 5:00pm
Join forces with New Art Club to lead a cast of stunning community performers and help create a show that will have the whole audience up on their feet and wanting to dance.
We are searching for high-quality, talented dance artists to lead three groups of community performers in the creation of their own sections of the Hercules tour. You will teach local performers of different ages and abilities and prepare them to be a part of life affirming, laugh-a-minute show.
“As a dance practitioner I was given the opportunity to give my creative input to a fantastic show. To work on three very different pieces of choreography was a great challenge and to work with three very different groups made the process more fun. I felt an ownership of the work and a valued member of the company.”
Jon Beney – Local Dance Artist for Hercules in Doncaster.
About the show
Hercules is best known for his incredible strength, but who knew the guy could dance? One extraordinary superhero, 12 impossible tasks… it’s the story of Hercules as you’ve never seen it before!
Created by and starring the award winning dancing comedy double act Tom Roden and Pete Shenton of New Art Club, this story of Hercules is told through hilarious dance routine and amazing speciality acts. It’s a modern cabaret for the whole family; a pantomime, a history lesson and a party all rolled into one side-splitting adventure.
