JCRP is designed to develop a new culture of investment across a breadth of choreographic research. It aims to benefit dance and the wider arts/cultural ecology in Britain.

JCRP is supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, and delivered by DanceXchange. The project involves an innovative group of producing partners from across the arts.

JCRP seeks to:

  • stimulate new ideas and thinking in choreography
  • underpin the development of research projects
  • broaden the understanding and value of choreographic material within the arts and cultural sector

The JCRP addresses how research is discussed and carried out. It brings a wide range of investors (the contributors) together from across the cultural sector. They then define the strands of enquiry for research. When research projects are funded, contributors play a lead role in realising the research alongside the successful artists.

To date, we have raised more than £30k from 10 investors including two new to the JCRP. We will be hosting a launch event at the Jerwood Space in early Spring 2016. At this event there will be opportunities to find out more about JCRP II.
