I've been really slack with this diary
malarke. My only excuse is that it's difficult
going to the internet cafe on a day off. Roll on the
day I save enough money for a laptop.
For the first time on this tour we had two shows in
the same place, Nottingham. It was great to have the
the second day to potter around town, relax and eat
nice meals rather than jumping straight back on the
train after a show.
I was dead excited about going to Manchester as it's
the closest I get to a hometown gig. We were staying
out at the Quays in Salford by the Lowry so some of us
got the metro into town for a few bevvies the night we
arrived. We were sat in this bar listening to a jazz
band and I turned around to see an old friend from
Wigan sat on the next table so had a good catch up.
It was a nice suprise.
My mum had organised a girls night out to watch the
show so ten of them, including a few of my aunties,
turned up in the school minibus and had a great night
out. Me brother and his girlfriend also came down
which I had never expected and an old friend from
home, Sal and her mum. I was so chuffed to see them
all.
The History Boys was on in the main theatre at the
Lowry so Gwyn and Conor spent most of there free time
admiring the view in the green room.
We did have a bit, well a lot, of a nightmare with the
floor during the show. It ripped to shreds causing a
few nasty falls but no injuries thankfully.
Where else have we been. Oxford. The stage felt much
smaller than we have been used to so had to
concentrate hard on spacing.
We went out to eat the night before and the bouncer
wasn't for letting us in saying we looked too scruffy.
That's too many hours on a train for you. Let us in in
the end though.
The audience seemed to enjoy it. Even a small fight
for Conor's sweaty t-shirt that he threw out during the
bows.
