Participants: 1 - 16
The Video/Dance workshop provides information and ‘hands-on’ practice in the integration of film into live performance.
Working with Jasmin Vardimon and video installation artist Guy Bar Amotz participants will explore the link between the two mediums of dance and film, looking at a variety of ways in which video and video projection can participate within live dance/physical theatre. Using live projections and video technology the workshop will focus on issues such as:
- Site specific dance work
- The viewers gaze / Optical illusions
- The body in relation to media and technology.
The workshops will be practical and task orientated. The participants will create and show fragments of the days/weeks work; this will then be followed by feedback from Jasmin Vardimon and Guy Bar Amotz. The workshop hopes to give participants new ideas and ways of working to use in their own work.
The workshop is aimed at Dancers/video and film artists/theatre practitioners/visual artists/choreographers. A beginner’s workshop is also available on request.
