SET UP A WORKSHOP

Stan Won’t Dance can offer workshops for:

• Dance & Physical Theatre Students / Teachers
• Industry Professionals e.g. Directors, Designers, Writers
• Dancers with a strong interest in theatre, and actors with dance/movement skills.

Ages 15+

Duration
1⁄2 day (1-2 hrs)
Full day (2 x 1-2 hr sessions)
2 day (4 x 1-2 hr sessions, 2 per day)

Participant Numbers: 12-24 (maximum of 24)

Example topics
The workshop could investigate the varied devising processes of Stan Won't Dance, and how we as creative performers can communicate ideas and feelings clearly and honestly. The integration of text and movement are integral to the company's work, so be prepared to be move, speak, be open and to challenge what you think you can do!

The workshop could link into the core syllabus of a student group and could be designed to compliment an existing project. The workshop organiser would need to send a brief to the company at least four weeks prior in order to develop a suitable format.

This format can be linked in with a lecture or talk, detailed above.

It is recommended that when possible these education elements are accompanied by the participants attending an actual performance of some of Stan Won’t Dance’s work.

Requirements
The venue would need to provide (1) a suitable studio workshop space with a sprung floor for exclusive use of the workshop (2) any associated equipment required for their specific workshop (3) music playback facilities in the studio (4) and two bottles of mineral water per session (5) video playback facilities.
