Interested in a career in dance?
Just want more dance training?
Aged 12 – 17?
Then read on!
The first year of ARC, our pre-vocational dance training programme for 12 – 17 year olds has been a great success and we will be running the course again from September 2014 with auditions held on Friday 5th September.
ARC is a monthly pre-vocational dance associates training programme held at Hype Dance, Sheffield. It bridges the gap in training for young dancers who wish to pursue their dance training after they have left school. The course covers Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop and Commercial dance.
WHO IS IT FOR?
It is aimed at young dancers with previous dance training, aged 12-17 who are looking at furthering their training alongside the existing dance classes they already take. It enables local dancers the opportunity to work with different tutors who are industry professionals, to develop their skills and learn how to perform before they embark on auditioning for full time courses.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
Classes run monthly on a Sunday throughout the year. This is to allow participants the flexibility to continue with existing commitments alongside ARC training. Dancers must be fully committed to the programme, as a limited number of places are available to ensure high quality teaching.
WHERE WILL IT LEAD?
Dancers successfully completing the programme will gain a broad knowledge and understanding of a range of dance styles, have developed their technique and performance skills. They will also have discovered areas to focus on in their future training. This will equip them with the confidence and skills to audition for vocational schools. Each student will receive a certificate of attainment upon completing the course.
HOW TO APPLY
Download an application form. You may then be invited to an audition where you will take part in a dance class and informal interview.
